The Buenos Aires Police seized dozens of cars and motorcycles during an operation to combat street racing. Checks were conducted in Liniers and Mataderos, as well as in Commune 1. Several cases of drunk driving were reported.

Buenos Aires, December 6 (NA) -- The City Police seized 35 cars and twelve motorcycles in the last hours, as part of a new preventive traffic control and street racing operation, this time in the Buenos Aires neighborhoods of Liniers and Mataderos. Similar to the one carried out last week, this operation was conducted jointly with personnel from Traffic Safety, Transport Traffic, APRA, and Commune 9, with the objective of preventing dangerous maneuvers and illegal street competitions. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, the control operation took place on Avenida General Paz and Emilio Castro; Avenida General Paz and Alberdi; Avenida Emilio Castro and Montiel, and Fragata Trinidad and Ercilla. As a result, 140 checks were carried out and 35 vehicles were impounded (23 cars and 12 motorcycles), in addition to three positive alcohol tests with readings of 1.80 g/l, 1.18 g/l, and 0.22 g/l. In parallel, the Security Traffic Corps, along with the City Police and the Superintendent of Traffic and Transport, conducted a motorcycle and vehicle control operation in Commune 1, specifically at Carlos Pellegrini and Avenida Córdoba.
